Vintage Jewellery

And how to look after it

Our jewellery collection is vintage and stretches back to the 1930’s. We are very upfront about the condition of our pieces and if you want any more information about the condition of a specific piece please get in touch. Some pieces may have minor defects, but we would never put a piece up for sale if we didn’t think it was worth the odd blemish. To us, the beauty of the pieces overcomes any minor cosmetic damage that time has done.

This jewellery is vintage so it is possible that a stone may fall out or a clasp may break. If this does happen we offer a repair service. This will likely be free of charge but if a small fee is required we will let you know. This is all a part of our sustainability push to keep beautiful objects in use rather than being forgotten and wasted.

Caring for

your vintage jewellery

Generally, keep your jewellery away from harsh chemicals and perfumes. Remember when you dress your costume jewellery should go on last and be the first thing your remove. If the crystals should get wet lay them on a towel or absorbent kitchen paper face down and dry with a hair dryer on a cool heat. If you wish to clean your piece just use a little diluted white vinegar or a non-chemical handwash for any metalwork and gently polish stones with a soft cloth. Never use vinegar or water on stones. Never immerse stones in water especially if they are closed back stones.

We do not recommend using a jewellery cleaning ultrasonic machine as it can cause the crystals to darken.

Keep your jewellery in the pouch that it came in or in a jewellery box to protect the stones whilst you are not wearing it. Avoid dropping it and avoid keeping two earrings loose in the same pouch. Be especially vigilant about this with pearls as they scratch.
